The Special Economic Zone (SEZ) "Zakarpattya" was created in the performance of the Decree of President of Ukraine "About a Special Economic Zone "Zakarpattya" since December 9, 1998 №1339/98 on the territory of Zakarpattya area for the term of 30 years by the general area of 737,9 hectares.

        The purpose of creation SEZ "Zakarpattya" is maintenance of balanced economic development of region, preference to attraction of the foreign investments, creation of the enterprises with modem technologies, increase of Ukrainian export, manufacture of the high-quality goods on a home market, creation of new working places.

The determining factors of creation SEZ "Zakarpattya".

1.Its favorable geoeconomical arrangement be rather industrial by advanced regions of East and Central Europe;

2.Ramified transport network and infrastructure;

3.Presence of a powerful railway junction Mukachevo-Batyevo-Chop-Uzhgorod (narrow and broad gauge);

4.Opportunity of maintenance potentially of significant volumes Trans-European air transportations through air station Mukachevo in directions North - South, East - West;

5.Passage of an international transport corridor №5 (Crit) through territory SEZ (Lissabon-BLissudapest-Chop-Kiev-Volgograd).

The Main Features of SEZ "Zakarpattya".

SEZ "Zakarpattya" for a functional type is complex or diversified zone. The tasks characteristic of industrial, forwarding, foreign trade special economic zones will be solved here.

All kinds of enterprise activity, except directly forbidden by the legislation of Ukraine, are carried out on the territory of SEZ.

The state shall guarantee the protection in the full volume, as stipulated by the legislation of Ukraine, of all the ownership and non-ownership rights of the investors.

The basic functional - branch complexes.

The formation of the basic four functional - branch complexes is provided on the territory of SEZ.

1.A foreign trade and forwarding complex. Its activity will be directed on activization of foreign trade (import, export, transit) by granting customs privileges, services concerning preservation or overload of a load, granting to rent of warehouses, premises for exhibition activity, and also services in completion of the goods, preservation, purchase and sale without payment of the customs taxes or with their delay on the export-import goods.

2.An industrial complex. It will be formed with the purpose of inclusion of the investments in various branches of a facilities for development of the export and import replaced manufacture, without restrictions on kinds and directions of enterprise activity.

3.The financial - economic complex provides development of a market infrastructure (insurance and investment companies, stock exchanges, engineering and consulting firms), banks, formation business - centre, world trade centres and exhibition halls.

4.The auxiliary complex is a maintenance of functioning of objects of an industrial infrastructure, complex of objects of cultural - household administrative purpose.

The Bodies of Power in the Special Economic Zone "Zakarpattya".

The Body of Economic Development of SEZ "Zakarpattya" (management SEZ "Zakarpattya") is created for the device of territory, construction of objects of an industrial and non-productive infrastructure, attraction of the investments, preference to development of foreign economic relations, conclusion of the contracts with the investors and the subjects of enterprise activity.

The Body of Economic Development SEZ "Zakarpattya" also carries out protection of interests of the subjects of managing of a Special Economic Zone, assists registration of the necessary documentation, provides observance of legality and law and order.
